Albert Lea Area Shrine Club
The Albert Lea Area Shrine Club was first chartered in 1922.
Early members were from Osman Shrine and adjoining Shrines. The Club was active until the depression years, when the group disbanded because of economic conditions.
New members were acquired and on December 13, 1951, Albert Lea received a new charter form Osman Shrine in St. Paul. Since this charter date, the membership has continued to be an active Club.
The Club now has a very active parade unit consisting of eight miniature model-T cars. During the summer, the model-Ts take part in many parades. Other Club activities include sponsoring a Christmas party for retarded citizens, bell ringing for the Salvation Army, and working at the Annual Shrine Circus. Regular Club meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month. Dinner-dances at Christmas and Valentine’s Day are held with the Ladies of members.
